In 2026, standards for the global structured cabling industry have been updated intensively. International standardization organizations and national communication authorities have revised technical specifications for cables, connectors and construction tools, raising industry entry requirements in terms of product performance, practical functions and testing methods, and further standardizing the global market.
In China and the Asia-Pacific region, the new version of YD/T 926.3 standard has been officially implemented. It has officially defined the cable hunting function as a standard configuration of structured cabling systems, and clarified the technical requirements for line searching and troubleshooting. This update makes cable tracers and other O&M tools essential for engineering construction and daily maintenance, and promotes the upgrading of industry tools towards standardization and specialization.
In European and American markets, TIA and IEC standards have set stricter requirements on electrical parameters such as crosstalk, return loss and impedance for Cat6A and shielded cabling systems. It is stipulated that all commercial cabling products must pass full FLUKE link tests to prevent inferior cables and connectors from entering high-end projects. Meanwhile, standards for dimensions, materials and durability of basic accessories including RJ45 plugs and crimping tools have been refined to ensure long-term operational stability.
In addition, certification rules for OEM export products have become clearer. Regional certifications such as CE, FCC and SABER have become basic thresholds for cross-border trade.
